Our Arequipa countryside tour takes you to explore the wonderful rural life of the White City. This tour includes a visit to the Mirador de Carmen Alto, where you will enjoy excellent views of the Arequipa Valley. Our trip also takes us to the traditional Yanahuara neighborhood and its interesting church built in the 18th century. In the countryside, we will also visit the Mansion of the Founder of Arequipa and its excellent art collection. Finally, we visit the Molino de Sabandía, a massive stone crusher built in 1785. Arequipa Countryside Tour Itinerary: 3 Hours
Available times: 09:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am or 02:30 pm. Choose your preferred time!- Panoramic Bus: Departing from the tourist bus stop on Calle Zela, Block 03, we begin the journey on the Panoramic Mirabus. Here, our guide will welcome you, providing detailed explanations of all the points on our itinerary. Enjoy the ride from the second floor of the bus to get an exceptional view of Arequipa’s tourist attractions. You will have the option to get off at the following locations:
- Yanahuara: In the Yanahuara district, capture photos at the famous Portales de Yanahuara with the Misti Volcano in the background. Explore the district’s church and try traditional queso helado, a unique dessert in Arequipa that you must try.
- Mirador de Carmen Alto: Next, we head to Mirador de Carmen Alto to appreciate the district’s terraces and the three surrounding volcanoes: Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu.
- Incalpaca: Next, we move on to Minizoo Incalpaca, where you can observe the four South American camelids (Llama, Alpaca, Vicuña, and Guanaco) for free.
- Founder’s Mansion: Our next stop is the Founder’s Mansion, a colonial house converted into a museum that houses historical relics from Arequipa. Entrance is optional but recommended for its historical richness.
- Sabandia Mill: Finally, we visit the Sabandia Mill, where the water mill is fully operational. In addition, there is a mini zoo with a fighting bull named Terminator, which you can gently pet. Entrance is optional. If you prefer to stay outside, you can enjoy optional activities such as horseback riding, ATV rides, ziplining, and tasting delicious traditional Arequipa cuisine.
