Catamaran Cruise: Puno/Isla del Sol – La Paz: 1-Day Itinerary

The tour begins at 6:30 a.m. with pickup from the hotel in downtown Puno, boarding the bus bound for Copacabana, Bolivia. There, the sanctuary of the Virgin of Copacabana is visited. Passengers then board the catamaran cruise that will transport them to Isla del Sol, considered the cradle of the Inca Empire. During the ride, passengers enjoy a snack.

On the legendary Isla del Sol, visitors explore the Garden, the stairs, and the Fountain of the Inca. Later, they visit the Inti Wata cultural complex, Bolivia’s top private tourist attraction, which includes the Ekeko underground museum, traditional medicine centers, and the construction of reed rafts. The exploration also covers the Pachamama terraces, a craft center, the Intica refuge and the Manco Capac lookout point, where a variety of Andean camelids can be observed.

The visit to the Inti Wata complex includes a ride on a typical totora reed raft and a panoramic view of the Inca palace of Pilkokaina. After the visit, passengers reboard the catamaran to continue sailing to Copacabana, where they enjoy a buffet lunch and a majestic panoramic view of Lake Titicaca. Finally, there is a transfer to La Paz.
