Colca Canyon 1-Day Tour Description
The Colca Canyon is 4,160 meters deep, more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the United States. It is the second deepest canyon in the world, after the Yarlung Tsangpo in China. Here are some highlights of the 1-Day Colca Canyon Tour from Arequipa:- Visit the Cruz del Cóndor, a lookout point that offers stunning views of the canyon and the majestic condors flying above.

1-Day Itinerary: Arequipa – Colca Canyon
We begin the one-day tour to the Colca Canyon at 03:00 AM with the pick-up of passengers from their hotels, starting the trip through Yura. The trip goes directly to the Cruz del Cóndor, making only one stop for breakfast in the town of Chivay.
Around 08:30 AM, we will arrive at the Cruz del Cóndor, where we will be able to appreciate one of the deepest canyons in the world and the condor sanctuary. On the way back, we will make stops in the towns of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque, which have beautiful colonial churches, as well as at the Miradores de Antahuilque and Choquetico, where we can observe pre-Incan tombs and models and the beautiful Colca landscape with its impressive terraces.
At 11:30 AM, in Chivay, we will head to the hot springs of La Calera.
At 12:30 PM, lunch in Chivay, and return to Arequipa.
Around 01:30 PM, on the way back, we will make a stop at the Mirador de Volcanes (highest point 4,910 meters above sea level), in the Tocra wetlands where you can observe the diversity of wild birds, herds of alpacas and llamas. In Pampa Cañahuas, we will see herds of vicuñas (part of the Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve), the beautiful South American camelid with one of the finest hairs in the world.
Around 05:00 PM, we will arrive in the city of Arequipa.
