Brief Itinerary of the 2-Day Machu Picchu Tour
DAY 1: Explore the Sacred Valley and Travel to Machu Picchu Pueblo
- Visit the Inca site of Pisac and explore Colonial Pisac.
- Discover the Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo.
DAY 2: Explore Machu Picchu (afternoon) and Return to Cusco
- Guided tour in the morning: “2 hours of walking to capture the essence of the Inca citadel.”
- Afternoon departure by train back to Cusco.
Day 1: Sacred Valley of the Incas (Pisac – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes)
Around 8:30 in the morning, we will meet at the hotel and together we will embark on a bus trip to the Sacred Valley. Our first destination is Pisac, the first archaeological site in the Sacred Valley. After our exploration of this site, we continue to Urubamba for lunch and then continue our journey to Ollantaytambo. After exploring Ollantaytambo, we will stay there to take the train to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, a representative holding a sign with your name will be waiting for you, escorting you to your accommodation (the place where you are staying).Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Early in the morning, we begin our hike at 4:30 am to arrive at Machu Picchu just as the sun rises. It is important to note that Machu Picchu opens at 6:00 am. Once the checkpoint is open, the guide will take you to the top of the town to take pictures. Afterwards, you will be guided through the entire Machu Picchu site for approximately 2 hours, followed by free time for independent exploration. After fully enjoying Machu Picchu, you will descend to Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo, and then the bus will take you back to Cusco.Included:
