Salkantay Inca Trail Expedition – 6 Days of High Adventure

Embark on the Salkantay Inca Trail 6 Days, often referred to as the High Inca Trail. This journey initially follows the same path up to the Salkantay base and then veers eastward, traversing the Inca Chiriasca Pass at an elevation of around 4900 meters. The trail descends through Sisaypampa, guiding trekkers to Pampacahuana, adorned with remarkable Inca ruins. Tracing the remnants of an Inca road, the route descends to the distinctive Inca ruins of Paucarcancha. Finally, it merges with the “classic” Inca Trail at Huayllabamba, guiding you onwards to the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu.

The Inca Trail Salkantay Trek provides an alternative and more demanding adventure compared to the classic route. Covering approximately 74 kilometers (46 miles) over six days, this expedition promises a challenging and fulfilling experience, culminating in the exploration of the mysterious ruins of Machu Picchu.

Overview of the 6-Day Inca Trail Trek
