Maras and Moray are two iconic sites in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, near Cusco. Maras stands out for its impressive salt mines, a system of salt wells exploited since pre-Inca times, while Moray is famous for its circular terraces, considered an Inca agricultural laboratory.
Itinerary
Day 1: road to maras and moray
The ATV tour to Maras and Moray begins with pickup in Cusco and transfer to the base in the community of Cruzpata. There, a brief technical and practical briefing is provided before beginning the ATV adventure. The first stop is the archaeological site of Moray, where you will visit its impressive circular Inca terraces. Then, continue to the picturesque town of Maras and visit a viewpoint from which you can admire the famous Salineras, a collection of thousands of salt pools used since pre-Incan times. After enjoying the scenery, return by ATV to the base and finally return to Cusco. The tour includes transportation, a guide, safety equipment, and an ATV. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and bring some cash for entrance fees or additional expenses.
