Lima PACHAMAC + BARRANCO

Discover the wonders of Pachacamac and Barranco

Itinerary

DAY 1: PACHACAMAC + BARRANCO

We begin our tour in Pachacamac, an hour south of Lima, where there is an impressive archaeological complex with pyramids and adobe temples that still preserve the mysticism and religiosity of its past. Visiting it will You can feel the magical attraction of a sanctuary that welcomed thousands of pilgrims who presented offerings and consulted the oracle of Pachacamac, who contemplated the past, the future, and destiny. We will explore the great temple known as Acllahuasi, where the 'chosen ones of the sun' resided, as well as the Painted Temple, the Taurichumbi Palace, and the Temple of the Sun, among others. We will also visit the on-site museum, which houses a copy of the idol of the god Pachacamac and vestiges found in the area. Later, we will head to the famous Barranco district, where the Bridge of Sighs and the Chabuca Granda Plaza stand out. This sculpture honors the Peruvian singer-songwriter Chabuca Granda, born on September 3, 1920, in Cotabambas, Apurímac, and another dedicated to her friend José Antonio Lavalle y García, who inspired the song 'José Antonio'.
