PUNO SILLUSTANI TOUR
Sillustani is an ancient funerary complex located on the Lake Umayo peninsula, near Puno, Peru. It is famous for its impressive chulpas, stone funerary towers built by the Colla culture to house the remains of their leaders and nobles. These chulpas, shaped like inverted cones, extend throughout the site, creating a unique and mysterious landscape.
Itinerary
Day 1: discovering sillustani
In the afternoon, you will be picked up from your hotel in Puno and depart for the Sillustani archaeological complex, located on the shores of Laguna Umayo. Upon arrival, you will begin a guided tour of the chullpas, impressive funerary towers built by the Kolla culture and also used by the Incas. The guide will explain details about the architecture, funerary rituals, and the Andean worldview. You will then have free time to appreciate the landscape and take photographs. Finally, we return to the city of Puno, arriving around 6:00 p.m.
