We begin at 6:40 a.m. with pickup from your hotel and set out to explore the Super Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Our first stop is at the traditional weaving centers of Chinchero, where you will see local artisans working on traditional looms and learn about ancestral techniques used for dyeing and weaving textiles, offering a fascinating look into Andean culture and traditions.
We then visit the Chinchero Archaeological Site, where you can admire impressive Inca architecture as well as the colonial church that reflects the blending of Inca and Spanish cultures.
Our journey continues to Moray, famous for its remarkable circular terraces, believed to have been used by the Incas as an agricultural experimentation center. From there, we head to the Maras Salt Mines, a spectacular landscape made up of thousands of salt pools that shimmer under the sunlight and have been used since pre-Inca times.
In the Urubamba Valley, we enjoy a buffet lunch featuring traditional regional dishes before continuing our afternoon adventure.
Next, we explore the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, known for its impressive terraces and ceremonial structures that showcase the extraordinary engineering skills of the Incas.
At the end of the tour, we head to the train station to board the Expedition train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, our staff will meet you at the station, take you to your hotel and provide helpful information and recommendations for your visit to Machu Picchu the following day.
