Itinerary

This 10-day itinerary is built for travelers who want a complete Peru experience—from the coast to the high Andes. Start in Lima at sea level, then enjoy a full day of ocean wildlife and desert landscapes in Paracas, Ballestas Islands and the Huacachina Oasis. After that, fly to the heart of the Inca world: Cusco, its iconic city tour, the Super Sacred Valley (Chinchero, Moray, Maras Salt Mines and Ollantaytambo), and the ultimate highlight—Machu Picchu with a guided visit, traveling on the Vistadome Observatory train. The journey becomes even more unique with Inti Raymi from the Orange VIP Section, an adrenaline-filled Red Valley + Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) ATV day, free time to explore Cusco at your own pace, and a powerful finale in high mountain scenery at Ausangate, surrounded by alpacas, rivers and multi-colored lagoons.

10 Days and 9 nights
Local guide: English & Spanish

Upon arrival in Lima, our team welcomes you at the airport and transfers you comfortably to your hotel. This day is ideal to rest after your trip, get used to the city’s rhythm (Lima is at sea level), and start exploring at your own pace. Enjoy your hotel facilities, take a walk nearby, or try Peru’s famous cuisine on your own—getting ready for an itinerary that gradually climbs in altitude and excitement.

We depart Lima at 04:40 a.m. in tourist transport along the Pan-American Highway, with a tour briefing and useful information during the ride. Around 06:00 a.m. we stop briefly for breakfast (at the passenger’s expense); a box breakfast is usually provided and you’ll also have time to buy snacks and drinks. We continue to Paracas, and at 09:30 a.m. we begin a boat excursion to the Ballestas Islands, first viewing the famous Candelabra geoglyph and then observing abundant marine wildlife such as guano birds, sea lions and Humboldt penguins. After returning to the bay, at 10:00 a.m. we enjoy a tasting of traditional sweets like tejas and chocotejas. At 01:00 p.m. you’ll have free time for lunch (at your own expense). At 02:00 p.m. we visit an artisanal winery with an explanation of wine and pisco production plus tastings included; at 03:00 p.m. we visit the Huacachina Oasis, and at 03:30 p.m. those who wish can do dune buggies and sandboarding. At 05:30 p.m. we return to Lima after a full day of ocean, desert and local tradition.

In the morning, we transfer you from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, our team welcomes you and escorts you to your hotel so you can rest and acclimatize to the altitude (Cusco is around 3,399 m / 11,151 ft). In the afternoon, enjoy a 4-hour Cusco City Tour visiting the Qoricancha Temple, the impressive Sacsayhuamán fortress, and the archaeological sites of Qenqo, Puca Pucará and Tambomachay. Return to your hotel to rest after a rich introduction to Cusco’s Inca and colonial legacy.

We depart between 06:30 a.m. and 07:00 a.m. with hotel pickup to start your journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. At 08:00 a.m. we visit Chinchero, known for its agricultural terraces, royal estate remains, colonial church over Inca foundations, and a live demonstration of traditional Andean textiles. At 09:30 a.m. we continue to Moray, famous for its circular terraces and Inca agricultural experimentation. At 10:45 a.m. we explore the Maras Salt Mines, with more than 3,000 salt ponds still harvested by local families. Around 12:30 p.m. you’ll have time for an Andean buffet lunch (passenger’s expense). At 02:00 p.m. we visit the majestic Ollantaytambo fortress—an important Inca center and one of the few living Inca towns. After the guided visit, enjoy free time to explore the town at your own pace. Overnight in Ollantaytambo, right in the heart of the Sacred Valley.

After breakfast, depending on your entry time, we pick you up from your hotel in Ollantaytambo and transfer you to the station to board the Vistadome Observatory train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, staff assist you to the bus station for the ride up to Machu Picchu (approximately 25 minutes). Before entering, you’ll pass the required control, so it is essential to present your original passport and physical ticket. Inside the citadel (approx. 2,430 m / 7,972 ft), your guide provides an in-depth explanation of its history, architecture and cultural meaning on the assigned circuit for around 2 hours. After the guided visit, return by bus to Aguas Calientes with free time for lunch on your own, then board the return train to Ollantaytambo and transfer back to your hotel in Cusco.

We pick you up between 07:30 a.m. and 08:00 a.m. to attend one of the most important cultural celebrations in the Andes: Inti Raymi, the ancient Festival of the Sun. The experience begins at Qoricancha, the former Temple of the Sun, where the first ceremony recreates Inca rituals honoring Inti. We then follow the procession to Cusco’s Main Square (Plaza de Armas) for the symbolic handover of the khipu, representing knowledge, order and authority. Next, we head to the impressive Sacsayhuamán fortress for the main ceremony with offerings to the Sun and Pachamama, enjoyed from the Orange VIP Section for excellent visibility and added comfort. After the show, we transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.

We depart at 04:30 a.m. toward the southern valley, passing scenic Andean villages until reaching Cusipata for a comforting breakfast. We then continue to Ichupata, where our ATV base is located. After a short safety briefing and about 10 minutes of practice, we start an exciting 1 hour 30 minute quad bike route through the stunning Red Valley. After the ride, we take an approximately 40-minute hike via the Red Valley viewpoint to reach the iconic Rainbow Mountain. Enjoy free time at the top for panoramic views and photos, then descend, return by ATV to Cusipata for a local lunch, and head back to Cusco with an estimated arrival around 5:00 p.m..

Enjoy a free day in Cusco to explore on your own, recharge for the next adventure, shop for souvenirs, and taste some of the city’s signature dishes at your own pace.

We start with hotel pickup in Cusco at 03:30 a.m. and travel by private tourist transport south toward Cusipata, where you’ll enjoy an Andean buffet-style breakfast to fuel the day. We then continue toward Pitumarca, passing through Ichupata, until reaching the Ausangate property, the starting point of the hike. From here, you’ll begin a trek of approximately 40 minutes to 1 hour along well-defined mountain trails, surrounded by spectacular views of the imposing Ausangate snowcapped peak, crystal-clear streams, rock formations, and llamas and alpacas in their natural habitat. Along the route, you’ll visit the beautiful Qorisoncco Lagoon, famous for its three natural color tones, and during the rainy season you may also see Pucacocha Lagoon. From a natural viewpoint, enjoy panoramic vistas of Ausangate and the surrounding water mirrors, with free time to rest and take photos. Then we return along the same trail to the vehicle and head back to Cusipata for a buffet lunch featuring typical Andean cuisine, before returning to Cusco—closing an unforgettable high-mountain experience.

At the scheduled time, our team escorts you to the airport for your return flight. You end the journey having experienced Peru from the coast to the Andes, combining culture, adventure and unique landscapes.
