Itinerary
Discover the best of Peru’s “White City” in one experience with the Arequipa City Tour + Santa Catalina Monastery, ideal for travelers who love architecture, history, and volcano panoramas. The tour begins at the most iconic viewpoints—Carmen Alto and Yanahuara—where you’ll enjoy sweeping views of Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes and the green Chilina Valley, perfect for panoramic photos. You’ll then explore Arequipa’s Historic Center, famous for its sillar stone buildings, the Main Square, and the impressive Church of the Society of Jesus with its mestizo baroque style. The highlight is a guided visit to the Santa Catalina Monastery, a unique colonial “city within a city,” full of narrow streets, courtyards, and centuries of religious history.
We start with pick-up from your hotel or a meeting point at Arequipa’s main square. Our first stop is the Carmen Alto Viewpoint, where we admire the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes and the beautiful Chilina Valley. Next, we visit the Yanahuara Viewpoint, famous for its sillar arches and panoramic views of Arequipa—an ideal spot for photos. We then continue into the Historic Center, stopping at the Main Square, the Cathedral (outside view), and the Church of the Society of Jesus, highlighting its impressive mestizo baroque style. The tour’s main highlight is the Santa Catalina Monastery, a unique colonial citadel; here you’ll enjoy a guided visit to understand its spaces, symbols, and stories. After exploring the monastery, we return to your hotel or the city center.
