Itinerary
Experience two of Lima’s most captivating contrasts in one tour: the ancient, spiritual atmosphere of Pachacamac and the artistic, oceanfront charm of Barranco. Travel south of the city to explore a monumental archaeological sanctuary of adobe pyramids and temples, once a major pilgrimage center in the Andean world. Then shift to Lima’s most bohemian district—Barranco—known for colorful streets, historic mansions, murals, and scenic viewpoints above the Pacific. A perfect half-day tour that combines archaeology, culture, and coastal landscapes.
We begin with pick-up in Lima and head to Pachacamac, about one hour south of the city. There, we explore an impressive archaeological complex of adobe pyramids and temples that still hold the mysticism and religious importance of the past, remembering it as a sanctuary that welcomed thousands of pilgrims who brought offerings and consulted the Oracle of Pachacamac, believed to reveal the past, future, and destiny. We visit the Acllahuasi, home of the “Chosen Women of the Sun,” the Painted Temple, the Taurichumbi Palace, the Temple of the Sun, and the site museum, which displays a replica of the Pachacamac idol and other archaeological remains. We then continue to the picturesque district of Barranco, visiting the Bridge of Sighs, Chabuca Granda Square, and the Catalina Recavarren Viewpoint, where you’ll enjoy spectacular ocean views—closing a tour filled with history, art, and unforgettable scenery.
